Rhythm Flashcards – Digital & Printable – Free SAMPLE Set!

Improve your students sight reading and rhythm vocabulary – Our digital rhythm flash cards focus on basic rhythm patterns and this condensed sample set demonstrates 4/4 time. Each card is visually appealing, clearly laid out, and easy to use with your choice of clapping, tapping, taka-dimi, French time names, body percussion, percussion instruments, etc. A great way to help them internalize the ‘feel’ of the rhythm!

This condensed sample pack contains ten basic one-bar rhythm patterns in 4/4 time – all the different possibilities of note combinations at the basic level, including: crotchets, minims, dotted minims, quaver pairs, and semibreves (for our American friends that’s quarter notes, half notes, dotted half notes, eighth note pairs and whole notes 🙂  And the final slide is an animated gif Congratulations slide – Great for student encouragement and motivation!

You can access these kid-friendly flashcards from any device, and use them in both classroom teaching and private instrumental lessons, either online (during a Zoom, Skype or similar meeting) or in person. Printable to A4 paper or thin card if you prefer a physical copy.

How to Download:

We recommend downloading these resources using a computer (rather than a phone or other device) to make it quick and easy, and a hard-wired internet connection will make it faster, of course.  Print it yourself, or take it to a print shop.  In either case, the PDF files are set up ready to print on both sides of the page, giving the flashcards, games, worksheet activities and kits a professional presentation.  Printing and playing instructions for all resources are included! 

Printing:

All our download files are in PDF format, ready to save, print and use. When printing, we recommend using either Adobe Acrobat Reader (free) PDF software, or ‘Nitro PRO’ software, to open & print our PDF resources.  You can also open our PDF files using Google Chrome, and print directly from there.  (Other PDF software may or may not print as reliably as these 3 options for these files.)

  • Great little cards for beginners

    I love these little cards, they are useful. I like that they show the values within the measure. For example a dotted half note isn't typically a 4/4 value, but showing it in the measure along a quarter note on the last beat, seems more clearer to explain.
