Music Goal Setting Page

music goals
Ever wondered why your students are learning music? Do they want to really want to do exams and recitals? Or do they hanker after improvising and composing? Or are there other pieces they want to learn, that you don’t know about?

Help students think creatively about their music lessons, and find out what it is they really want to learn, with this colourful ‘goal setting’ page. This A4 page gives you plenty of space for brain-storming together with them – Let them write in some of their ideas now, and fill in more bubbles as other ideas and plans come up later!

Take a look:

And students can also write in any mini-goals they want to achieve, on they’re way to a bigger goal: Pieces? Improvisation? Composing? Technical work?  Theory? Aural skills? Music history knowledge? Listening and appreciation skills?  Let them write them all on, so they can enjoy a real sense of achievement as they ‘finish’ each mini-goal!  (This resource is especially designed for studio music teaching.)
